Bexley Liberal Democrats met people in Sidcup ahead of the Mayoral election on 5th May. The local candidate, Julie Ireland, was keen to speak to local people about their concerns and talk about how Caroline Pidgeon's London Liberal Democrats can help deal with the big issues facing people in Bexley.

"Time and again people stopped to ask what our policy was on housing” said Julie.

A major campaign promise by Caroline Pidgeon in this London Mayoral Election is to build 200,000 new homes in London over the next 5 years, 50,000 of which will be council homes. Other housing policies include scrapping rip-off tenancy fees which can be crippling to renters and small landlords and a rent to buy scheme, where people will be able to pay a portion of their rent towards owning their first property.
